Mandala
Group is a privately owned and operated company that understands the client’s expectation
that we provide value based on successful current and past performance
and proven capabilities. The company was originally formed in 1995 as a home-based business providing services
that specialized in arranging lodging, conference and meeting accommodations for government agencies, associations, and
corporate clients. The company was incorporated in June 2000 and subsequently moved into offices in Springfield Virginia.
During this period of growth we developed a loyal client base that began
to request other support services that has allowed the company
to expand its capabilities.
Karen D. Garcia, President
Certified
Meeting Professional (CMP)
Karen
has been a lodging and meeting planning consultant for over twenty
years. She has owned and operated a lodging, conference, and meeting management business
for the past 10 years. She was the former regional Director of Marketing
and Sales with Potomac Hospitality Service. She is an acknowledged expert at making hotel
properties profitable by securing repeat and loyal customers for the organization. Her superior ability to train
others in the art of sales and marketing has made her a highly sought after consultant within the hospitality industry.
Karen is recognized throughout the industry as a professional who can be counted on to aggressively negotiate a
client's requirements while maintaining the highest degree of integrity.
Karen has designed and implemented several large scale executive level conferences. She has provided conference
management service for the US Department of Agriculture that included
providing special security services for 1700 attendees and over 100 foreign Ministers
of Agriculture. She also produced a custom designed registration web site
that included a sophisticated use of database technology to render reports
to the customer in regards to attendee demographics and special needs. She is a meeting planning professional
with a stellar reputation in the industry. As President of Mandala Group
she represents the company’s marketing focus while working closely
with the staff and project teams to ensure client satisfaction. She
has been a member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals
since 1985. Karen is a Convention Industry Council Board Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).
The foremost certification program of today's meetings, conventions and exhibitions
industry, the CMP designation recognizes those who have achieved the industry's highest
standard of professionalism.

Terry Hix, Sales Manager
As one of our national representatives operating
in the the southwest region Terry has an extensive background and management
experience in the hotel and hospitality industry. He is the consummate customer service professional with a reputation for making
sure that a client's conference, meeting, or special event is a rewarding and memorable experience. Before joining Mandala Group
Terry was the National Account Sales Manager for a major hotel. He managed large and small conference and meeting requirements for
clients in both the public and private sectors. He is well versed in all aspects of conference and meeting planning management and
takes special pride in being able to provide workable solutions for any client requirement. A reputation for providing creative
inspiration that often exceed the client's expectations, Terry also possesses superior organizational skills repeatedly recognized
by clients. An active member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Terry is focused on providing the highest levels of
quality service. Terry is an expert at designing, planning, and managing a client's conference and meeting requirements.

Bobbi McAdams,
Sales Coordinator
Bobbi provides direct support to the
company's core mission working closely with clients to meet all their conferences, meetings, and special event needs.
She has a vast amount of experience that is matched with a high degree of dedication to the job. Her background includes,
managing and maintaining client engagement systems, finance and accounting, support of sales and productivity services,
and customer relations. Bobbi is well versed in all the required automated productivity tools and sales management
reporting requirements. Mandala is please to have her dedication and highly sought after skills available to meet our
client's needs.

Sue Anderson,
Sales Administrator
Sue is a highly experienced marketing and sales
administrator. Before joining Mandala she supported critical operations for senior level executives and their staffs.
Her responsibilities included administration and logistical management of conferences, meetings, and events, budgets, project
coordination, and overall sales and marketing requirements. She is an extremely detailed and customer service oriented
professional that takes great pride in helping the customer achieve their objectives. She possesses an impressive history
of helping an organization to grow and maintain the highest standards of quality service. Mandala's clients can look forward
to having all their requirements serviced in a dependable and reliable manner.

Robert D. McVey, Board Member
Bob is a recognized business leader
in the Washington, DC area. He has extensive experience in the field of defense consulting, legislative liaison and
business development. His unparalleled expertise as a Pentagon and Capitol Hill consultant has yielded him successes
unmatched by others in the defense marketing industry. During the past 16 years he has concentrated on defense
modernization, equipping and training of the armed forces. His extensive work on Capitol Hill has involved close work
with the National Security Committee, members of congress and their staff. His first hand knowledge of the Congressional
Appropriations process has gained him immeasurable respect among the entire defense industry and Department of Defense
Officials. He continues to advise Department of Defense Leaders on sensitive issues concerning National Security and
maintains a personal relationship with each of the 54 state Adjutants General and their staff. Bob has owned and operated
several small businesses.
As a Board Member and Senior Advisor to Mandala Group he provides business development consulting and legislative liaison
support. During his 24 year military career, he served in numerous assignments throughout the US, Asia and
Latin America. His career involved assignments in Infantry, Special Operations, Aviation, the Department of Army Staff and
the Joint Staff of the National Guard Bureau. He retired as a highly decorated officer and service disabled combat veteran.
Bob holds Degress in Business Administration and Occupational Safety and Health specializing
in environment and hazardous waste. He has extensive experience in business start up and mergers and acquisitions. He is highly
sought after by major corporations to help guide and develop business opportunites. We are very fortunate to have
Bob as a member of our Board of Directors. His wealth of knowledge and experience are helping Mandala to grow as a
quality professional services provider .

Angel "AJ" Garcia III,
Board Chairman
As a member of the Board of Directors
AJ provides strategic planning and business transformation guidance to Mandala's executive management team.
As an entrepreneur he has extensive experience organizing, managing, and assuming the risks of a business.
A consumate developer of business in the IT, communications, and government operations/logistics arena, AJ knows
first hand the challenges associated with small business government contracting. For over a decade he helped build an enterprise
that grew to 60 employees servicing DoD and federal agency customers.
From 1994, until the company was acquired in 2005, he was instrumential in developing business that recorded
over $70M in revenue during the period. In addition to having a comprehensive and
intimate knowledge of government requirements in the areas of business support operations, he is an expert in
organizational development, project management, and industrial security program management.
AJ is current managing the Defense Division for Astron Wireless Technologies providing sophisticated communication products and
services to government and commercial customers.
A career member of the United States Army, now retired, he served as a Senior
Noncommissioned Officer trained in organizational development, logistics, and service support operations. His assignments included
three tours of duty in Germany with tours of duty in Korea, Panama, and Vietnam.
He designed and implemented the transition project for Phase I of the Panama Canal Treaty.
And served as an Inspector with the I Corps Inspector Generals Office in the areas of Logistics, Administration, and Personnel Operations.
A decorated Service Disabled Vietnam Veteran, he served as an aviation technical logistics specialist and helicopter door gunner with
the 3/17 Air Cavalry, 1st Aviation Brigade. While in the military he earned a degree
in business and is a life long learner currently working on a degree program in Homeland Security.
AJ is a life member of the American College of Forensic Examiners and holds a Level III Homeland
Security Certification and volunteers as a First Responder with the Virginia Citizen Corp.
